Professional Experience

Ms. Adelman studied mechanical engineering with a concentration in manufacturing at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004.  Following her graduation, she attended The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois.  In 2008, she was awarded a Juris Doctor with a certificate in intellectual property law, graduating cum laude.  She also holds a Master of Laws degree in intellectual property law from John Marshall, graduating with honors.

While studying at John Marshall, Ms. Adelman was an Article Editor for the Review of Intellectual Property Law and competed in the BMI Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition in 2007.  In the summer of 2006, Ms. Adelman participated in the Pierce Law Intellectual Property Summer Institute in Beijing, China where she studied comparative intellectual property law.

Ms. Adelman began working at Cook Alex as a summer law clerk in 2007 and joined as a full-time associate following graduation from John Marshall in 2008.  She has experience in U.S. patent and trademark prosecution matters, litigation, and patent validity and infringement analyses.
