Professional Experience

Ms. Derwinski studied biology and chemistry at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001. Following her graduation, she attended DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, and was awarded her Juris Doctor degree in 2004.

While studying at DePaul, Ms. Derwinski gained experience working in the Office of the General Counsel at the American Medical Association, and then began clerking at the present firm beginning in 2003. She joined the firm as a full-time attorney following graduation from DePaul University College of Law.

Ms. Derwinski has experience in U.S. patent and prosecution matters in the area of medical and biomedical devices and equipment. Her work also includes litigation, patent validity and infringement analyses, trademark clearance and prosecution, and license and agreement preparation.
