CHICAGO, IL—October 15 , 2007  Cook Alex partner will be co-chairing and presenting at Law Seminars International's (LSI) New Development in Patent Claim Construction seminar in San Francisco on January 9, 2008.  This seminar will feature a mock Markman hearing in which patent litigators representing the patent holder and accused infringer square-off before a real judge.  Following the mock hearing, the judge will rule on the proper construction for selected claim terms and will provide commentary and rationales for the rulings. Edward D. Manzo, co-founder and partner of Cook Alex, will be presenting on Case Law on Claim Construction, which will provide a review of recent Federal Circuit cases on patent claim interpretation, substance and procedure.
